Living on Bitcoin 2020 — what it's REALLY like!

Watch us spend a day using the lightning network around town to do the things we would normally do, and get free Bitcoin in the process.

The lightning network is a technology that allows you to use Bitcoin without adding your transaction to the global ledger. This means that you don’t have to pay the sometimes expensive transaction fee to miners, it also means that transactions are nearly instant because they are truly peer-to-peer.

This video would not be possible without the Bitcoin community.

Specifically Guy Swann, Fold App, and the beautiful wallet.

Guy Swann has one of the most informative podcasts about Bitcoin with a focus on economics. He cultivates and reads articles that go deep into many aspects of Bitcoin. It’s a must for both experts and beginners. I’m not just saying this, really, check it out.

I know some of you are going to latch on to the fact that we use gift cards instead of merchants who accept Bitcoin. Fact is, if you’re living on Bitcoin today this is the reality. This video isn’t about looking for the one coffee shop that accepts Bitcoin and crying about how hungry we are. This is for those of us who have made the choice to use Bitcoin as our currency of choice and need practical ways to get by in our everyday lives.
